Engage your frisky feline’s stalking and hunting instincts with the Ground Prey Wand with Iguana. Designed by Jackson Galaxy for cats who love ground pursuits.

Tips: Attach ground prey toy to wand then slide and slink along the ground to mimic the hunt for ground-based prey. Daily play with the Galaxy Wand will get your cat's mojo going!

  1. Guide the iguana toy so it behaves like prey: slowly, then fast, around walls, under blankets.
  2. Use Jackson's "boil & simmer" method to give your cat a great play session: allow them to rest between more intense bouts of pouncing.
  3. End your play session with a serving of food to mimic 'the raw cat' routine: hunt, catch, kill, then eat.
  4. Your cat will usually follow this with two more natural activities: grooming, and sleeping.

Like the wand, hate the attachment

The wand is sturdy. I like the fact it uses a think cable the cats can't bite through. The caterpillar attachment frayed as it was thread wrapped and the critters are heavy and have too much friction to glide well. I am using attachments from other companies instead.

    Fun but Weak

My cat loved this toy for all of the one week that it lasted... The wire doesn't swivel well and began to fray almost immediately and eventually snapped a week after I got it. I mean you can still attach something to the telescoping part, but nothing strong enough to guide the toy it came with.

    Her new favorite toy!

Posted by Jon Nordquist on Aug 13th 2017

Having been a fan of Jackson Galaxy for years, I fully subscribe to the hunt, catch, kill, eat, groom and sleep method, and this toy definitely fills the bill! My muted tortie Kharma will actually wake me up in the morning for her first play session of the day with this toy, and she never gets tired of it! She has jumped at least three to four feet in the air chasing the iguana and loves to stalk and pounce on the ground! What is really like to emphasize is the quality of the toy's construction - these are made extremely well and hold up to very heavy use. By far the best cat toy I've purchased, and Kharma is pretty spoiled! You won't be disappointed in this one, it's amazing!

We actually got this toy for our three ferrets. So far with over a month of play we have no signs of breaking and a mild amount of bending of the telescoping parts and our fur butts play with this very aggressively. We have to put it away in a drawer because they find it so addictive and also they try to steal it and hide it. We are looking forward to getting our kitten back after having to temporarily rehome her. We are super excited and confident she will enjoy this toy as much as the ferrets do 😄

    New favorite toy!

My cat loves this iguana! Every time she hears the telescoping handle she come running. I bought this specifically because she's not a jumper, so I didn't want to buy a typical feather toy. Since its body is made of connected segments you can make it look like it's actually slithering around on the floor. Tip: She likes it best on the carpet where she can get a better grip with her claws to run and catch it.

    Wire breaking

Posted by Cindy Evert on Jul 5th 2017

Let me be very clear first off, I love this toy because my cats love playing with it. I have purchased this toy twice because the first one (which my cats look forward to playing with every night) was great for about 3 weeks, then the wire began to fray. I twisted the strands back together and cut one off. This lasted one more week then the wire completely broke off. I purchased another one identical to the first and the same thing happened. My cats love this toy but I feel it needs a stronger wire/string or something that lasts longer.

    New pray!

Baby and Keiki have never played with ground pray. This is a new experience for them and they make the funniest noises when playing with it!

The Ground Prey Telescoping Wand with Iguana has been the BIGGEST hit in my house. My 5 cats chase it all around the house. I put it away at night and they are banging on the door trying to get at it. My cat, Murphy was accidentally closed in that room. I heard him meow. When I opened the door, he ran out of the room with the Iguana in his mouth. The rod was dragging behind him as he ran through the house and the other cats were chasing him. It was hilarious. Thanks, Jackson for a great toy!

    Mixed Results

Posted by JTD on Mar 17th 2017

While our cat loves this toy, it doesn't stand up to play. Living abroad, we ordered one which broke at the telescoping part and then at the wire part, and a second which broke on where the wire attaches. There's no way to repair these toys so its just a waste. We have a third but I wouldn't buy anymore since they all break too easily.
